Are you really in the Faith? Part 2

Are you really in the Faith?

There are questions believers should periodically ask themselves.

Is there evidence of His presence in my life? If so, then He will confirm it to you. Romans 8:16 say's:

The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,

We know we are His children when we Experience Comfort and Peace from Him.
John 14:25-27 say's:

25 "These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

We know we are His children because He reveals truth to us.

You may remember reading about the Ameus road experience?'' After the disciples spent some time with Jesus, whose appearance at that time was hidden from them, they exclaimed, Did our hearts not burn within us as He opened the scriptures to us?''

We know we are His children because He directs our paths. Psalm 32:8-9 say's:

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. Do not be like the horse or like the mule,Which have no understanding, Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, Else they will not come near you.

We know we are His children because He corrects us. Hebrews 12:5-6 say's:

And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons:
" My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD,
Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him;
For whom the LORD loves He chastens,
And scourges every son whom He receives."

So, Is there evidence of His presence in your life? Is He confirming it in your spirit? Do you Experience Comfort and Peace from Him? Is He revealing truth to you? Is He Directing your path? Is He correcting you? These are all questions you must ask yourselves if you are examining whether you are in the faith.

Is there a noticeable continuing increase of Godliness in your life? 2nd Corinthians 3:18 say's:

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

You can't stand a sinful lifestyle if you are one of His. Galatians 5:16 say's:

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Is your love for other Christians increasing? Read the following verses:

1st John 3:14

We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death.

1st Corinthians 13:4-7

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Once you have determined that you are truly in the Faith, you can rest assured that He will never let you go! That's right, you are under an everlasting covenant and there is an assurance of your salvation! You know this because He is your LORD and SAVIOR!
