Keeping Your Spiritual Cutting Edge - Part 2

How does a person lose their cutting edge? In Part one of this blog I pointed out that one can lose their sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. Another example I've seen is when a Christian loses their usefulness to God. When we become an island all to ourselves and never share to others what God has done for us, show the love of God to others, or share God's word with others - then simply put, What use are we to God's Kingdom?

Revelation 14:14-16

14 Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. 15And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, "Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe." 16So He who sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.

What is the Sickle? The Church! We are the ones who are called to prepare the harvest! For every person you share the Gospel with and they become born again you have contributed to God's harvest. Also, for every person you choose not to share the gospel with , or worse, turn people away from the gospel by our ungodly ways - this will be one more added to what is burned - or eternal damnation in Hell.

So having examined what it means to have our Spiritual Cutting edge, is it worth having? You better believe it is!

If we are going to win the lost to Christ then it is important that we remain sharp. This means daily fellowship with God: sharing what's on our heart with Him, singing praises to Him, thanking Him, praying to Him, practicing solitude as we listen for Him, reading and absorbing His holy word, and then putting it all into practice in our life.
